ABOUT THE POSITION JOB SUMMARY:
The Clark County Water Reclamation District is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the WRD Mechanical Technician III position. This position will be primarily responsible for:
- Performing complex diagnostics on large scale systems that may encompass multiple areas.
- Training employees on equipment and safety procedures.
- Evaluating equipment and advise supervisor of area needs.
- Researching equipment and parts for repairs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education and Experience: Graduation from high school or equivalent AND three (3) years of full-time skilled experience performing mechanical equipment maintenance and repair in an industrial/plant setting. Equivalent combinations of education/experience may be considered. Qualifying education and experience must be clearly documented in the "Education" and "Work Experience" sections of the application. Working Conditions: Work extended shifts or be called back in emergency situations. Work with exposure to hazardous chemicals and substances found in the wastewater treatment process. Work out of doors in all weather conditions. Performs standby duties as required.
Licensing and Certification: Must possess a valid Class C Nevada Driver's License at time of appointment. Must possess a valid Nevada Water Environment Association (NWEA) Plant Maintenance Technologist Grade III Certification, or candidate must possess a valid Plant Maintenance Technologist Grade III Certificate, or equivalent, within another state. If a non-NWEA certification is held the candidate, within one year of hire, must obtain, either through reciprocity or test, a NWEA Plant Maintenance Technologist Grade III Certificate. Some positions may require a crane operator's certification through the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operator's (NCCCO) within twenty-four (24) months from the date of hire. Some positions may require confined space entry certification.
Background Investigation: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after employment, background investigations may be conducted.
Medical Examination: Employment is contingent upon the results of a physical examination performed by our examining physician.
