Position Description
Performs administrative duties in the management and coordination of a large specialized project and program. Under general supervision, performs varied and complex administrative duties requiring independent judgment and the application of established policies and procedures. May provide supervision and direction to clerical, para-professional or professional staff members.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Assists Laboratory Section Manager in maintaining computer databases for institutional laboratory safety program.
  • Prepares reports on laboratory inspections, audits, surveys, inventories, fume hoods, safety showers, and eyewash stations.
  • Prepares periodic repots and summaries of the laboratory safety program as directed by supervisor.
  • Assists in the development, production and presentation of safety training and safety programs in the areas of biological, chemical, occupational, and laboratory safety.
  • Prepares equipment and instrument calibration and assists in facilitation of required calibrations.
  • Documents safety cross-training with all other Safety Services divisions and campuses to enhance continuity of operations of the Laboratory Safety Division. Seeks opportunities for cross-training with all other Safety Services.
  • Adopts and demonstrates our TTUHSC Values-Based Culture.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or local administration.


Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in the area of specialization or closely related field. Four years of related administrative and technical experience. Additional job related education may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
