GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION These are lead positions affording guidance to other positions performing similar tasks. These lead positions also review workloads, assign work, establish deadlines, obtain materials/parts/equipment needed to perform work, and train/coach employees to effectively perform their assigned duties. Crew Leaders may contribute to performance evaluation of assigned employees, assist with the hiring process by interviewing, making recommendations, and providing input to supervisory staff and may participate in corrective and disciplinary actions. Minimum Qualifications/Special Requirements EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Graduation from high school diploma or GED equivalent; At least two (2) years of experience leading crew activities with four (4) years’ experience at skilled or journey level work repair and maintenance work in the respective areas Street Maintenance, Parks & Golf Course Maintenance, Fleet Services, Building Maintenance, Sanitation, or Fire Hydrant Maintenance or, in public transportation services for KART, Water or Wastewater system maintenance. Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work.
