The Information Technology (IT) Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the IT activities of the Client Services Unit within the State of Nevada Office of the CIO (OCIO). This position's responsibilities are focused on managing teams which deliver superior customer service in the areas of Enterprise Service Desk, HR Help Desk, Field Support Services, and Application Server Support. Ideal candidates for this position will possess leadership experience overseeing IT operations, a background in Enterprise IT service delivery, and a passion for improving processes, serving customers, and supporting critical statewide services. General responsibilities include developing, maintaining, and enforcing operational, security, hardware, and other miscellaneous IT services and standards including physical and logical security procedures for normal operations, business continuity, and disaster recovery; writing plans, policies, procedures, and standards for operational related functions including but not limited to security, business continuity, disaster recovery, customer service, software deployment, desktop implementations and replacements, and environmental maintenance; developing examining, and evaluating contracts for purchases of materials and services; participating in State IT activities and policy-making activities and/or serving on various ad hoc committees and workgroups; maintaining current knowledge of technological trends and advancements in the IT field and security management practices, laws, policies, and ethics; developing organizational structure, staffing patterns, and resource allocation to meet agency or division-wide goals and objectives; supervising subordinate managers, supervisors, and staff, including hiring, determining workload, delegating assignments, training, monitoring and evaluating performance, and taking disciplinary action; resolving problems; and performing related duties as assigned.
