Dormitory Director - Missouri School for the Blind Job Vacancy Number: 403904 Salary: $47,808 (with a $2.00/hour shift differential for an evening or night shift work schedule) Job Location: This position is located at 3815 Magnolia Ave. St. Louis, MO Why you’ll love this position: This is an opportunity to become part of a team of great teachers and staff working to provide quality educational services to students with visual impairments in Missouri. What you'll do: Plan work schedules and maintains records of staff. Responsible for the communication of standards and practices to residential staff. Evaluate residential staff based on observations and job performance. Supervise staff in residential and other areas throughout the campus as needed or assigned. Coordinate with the Residential Life Administrator to plan monthly activities. Manage and organize dormitory, orders supplies/equipment, reports deficiencies in inventory. Assist in planning and coordinating professional development. Serve as the liaison between students, families, staff, and administration. Coordinate the Residential component of MSB’s Work Experience Program. Monitor daily supervisors reports, student data collection, maintenance and IT requests etc. to ensure the effective implementation of MSB’s programs. Perform other duties as assigned. PREFERRED SKILLS: Thorough knowledge of child development. Demonstrated management skills. Good personal communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with students, parents, staff and fellow workers. Able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. Prior experience in a residential school for the blind preferred. All you need for success: A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university. Valid Missouri Class E Driver’s License with an S endorsement (Note: This license is required to drive our vans; applicant does not drive school buses) Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid Certificates.
