Position Summary Reporting to the Senior Associate Director, the Admissions Counselor coordinates admissions and enrollment processes for domestic students in compliance with Title 5 standards, California State University (CSU), and San Francisco State University (SFSU) admissions and enrollment policies including advising, counseling and guidance regarding the undergraduate admissions process to prospective applicants, undergraduate applicants, and returning SFSU students. Incumbents accomplish their work through the use of admissions technology applications and manual admissions process review. Position Information Admissions Processing Coordinate and conduct the review of new undergraduate applicants according to Title V, CSU, and specific campus policies. Assess and interpret self-reported applicant information and academic records for determination of eligibility for admission. Monitor and update Campus Solutions (CS) based student records. Verify admitted applicants eligibility for enrollment. Determine eligibility for waivers of application fees. Verify the completion of English and math course work for placement in those subject areas at SF State. Provide admission services to special populations. Support new and existing staff members flexibly covering the work of the unit. Advising Applicants Advise prospective applicants regarding application processing and eligibility requirements. TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERING & DESIGN - Bridge Construction (one position) This position will be responsible for overseeing bridge and roadway construction and repairs as per MNDOT Contract Administration requirements. Instructional assignments will be consistent with the programmatic needs of the department and students. The primary professional responsibilities of instructional faculty members are: teaching, research, scholarship, and creative activity; and service to the University, profession and to the community. These responsibilities include: advising students, participation in campus and system-wide communities, maintaining office hours, working collaboratively and productively with colleagues, and participation in traditional academic functions. Probationary faculty are typically provided ongoing mentorship to be a successful member of the faculty. During the first two years of the probationary period, teaching responsibilities will be reduced by approximately one course each semester. The reduced teaching load supports the establishment of research, scholarship and/or creative activities required for retention, tenure, and promotion. We are one of four institutions in California that offers sufficient coursework for graduates to become qualified as a Soil Scientist with the federal government. Our Rangeland Resource Science major is the only range major offered in California and one of few programs that qualifies graduates for Rangeland Management Specialist with the federal government and with sufficient classes for candidates to sit for the CA Certified Rangeland Manager exam.
