THE POSITION
Reporting to the Director of Administrative Services, the Management Analyst (Risk Management) provides professional support to risk management programs including: workers' compensation, safety compliance, review and approval of contracts and Certificates of Insurance, risk transfer, and leave and disability administration.
In addition, you will have the opportunity to coordinate and oversee workers' compensation claims management including monitoring accepted claims and providing information to claimants, attorneys, and the workers' compensation carrier. You will also serve as a consultant to City departments and employees on Risk Management (workers' compensation, safety, contract insurance) problems and communicate regularly with internal and external parties to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of assigned programs and activities, minimize risk, and advise of claim developments. This position will also support the City's leave management program.

THE POSITION
Reporting to the Director of Administrative Services, the Management Analyst (Risk Management) provides professional support to risk management programs including: workers' compensation, safety compliance, review and approval of contracts and Certificates of Insurance, risk transfer, and leave and disability administration.
In addition, you will have the opportunity to coordinate and oversee workers' compensation claims management including monitoring accepted claims and providing information to claimants, attorneys, and the workers' compensation carrier. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others. The Division of Emergency Management (DEM) is recruiting to fill a Grants and Projects Analyst 2 position within the Grants Unit in Carson City. The incumbent assists with the suite of Federal grants the Division administers to local jurisdictions and emergency responders to ensure a capable emergency management force. Under supervision, the incumbent helps recipients understand grant requirements, works with recipients to process reimbursements, and works as part of a team to determine which recipients qualify for grants and how much funding they should receive. The incumbent helps evaluate policies, rules, and regulations and assists the Grants and Projects Analyst 3 monitor subrecipient performance and compliance as it relates to program regulations. The incumbent also provides technical assistance for reviewing and reconciling financial audit reports to Division accounting staff. The successful candidate can interpret technical information related to accounting, finance, auditing, fiscal management, and business administration and effectively utilize business software including word processing and spreadsheets.
