The Job

San Bernardino County is looking for motivated Senior Software Developers* to design and develop advanced enterprise systems using the latest technology available. Software developers provide production support and are experts in system analysis, automated systems design, database design, and applications programming. A Senior Software Developer is the primary resource for evaluating and applying new technological developments to assigned projects. This senior role will be assigned the most complex projects. Senior Software Developers will lead and direct the work of other support roles, as necessary, to drive productivity and project completion.

Some departments offer a 9/80 schedule, where incumbents enjoy a nine-day biweekly schedule.

Depending on assignment, teleworking may be available!

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Pre-Employment Process: Applicants must successfully pass a background check and a job-related physical exam, including a drug test, prior to employment . Availability: Incumbents may occasionally work evening and weekend hours. Some overtime, on-call, or call back work may be required.

Minimum Requirements

Experience: Four (4) years of full-time equivalent work experience in a production environment, within the past five (5) years, performing systems analysis, planning, and development for business applications projects. Must include one (1) year working as a project leader for large-scale projects and the use of a systems development methodology.
Qualifying experience must include use of ALL of the following:
  • .Net/.Net Core
  • C#/ASP.net
  • SQL Server
  • Full-stack web development (React.JS, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript ES6)


-AND-

Education: Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed college level courses in programming, computer science, software engineering, or related field. A list of coursework must be submitted with the application if a Bachelor's degree has not been conferred.

Substitution: One (1) additional year of qualifying work experience may substitute for the education requirement.

Desired Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Auditor-Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector Department will possess the following:
  • Strong understanding of all aspects of enterprise software development; integrated Windows, Web, API, database, and reporting skills.
  • Experience with React.JS and extensive experience performing full-stack web development (React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript ES6).
  • Experience developing modular user interfaces, and familiarity with modern CSS frameworks, tools, and workflow.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Software Engineering.
The ideal candidate for the Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk will possess the following:
  • Experience in Azure Cloud Development; Microservices, Data Factory, DevOps CI/CD Pipelines.
  • Experience in Cloud Migration or Modernization projects.
