Several full-time positions available with the Neighborhoods & Services Department, 311 Division located at 414 East 12th Street Salary Range: $19.27-$29.39/hour Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. Application Deadline Date: June 5, 2024 Responsibilities Provide highest level of customer service to include receiving inquiries and requests from residents via a variety of methods including telephone, email, face-to-face, web, and social media. Assist customers by entering and researching information in computer database, providing information regarding issues to appropriate departments, researching status of requests; and assisting in providing direction, guidance, and training to employees. Responsibilities: Communicate directly with callers in a professional and courteous manner. Receive telephone calls using automatic call distribution system and computer-based work management system to create service requests, provide residents updates on services requested, and answer questions. Perform accurate data entry functions by entering required information into computer systems; enter, retrieve, review or modify information in computer database; verify accuracy of entered data and makes corrections. Research requests, problems and complaints and initiate appropriate action; generate service requests to resolve issues; locate and contact appropriate personnel in other City agencies/departments for information or assistance with problem resolution; refer problems to other departments/individuals as appropriate. Provide information and assistance related to City services/activities, procedures, documentation, or other issues; respond to questions, complaints, or requests for service; use all available resources to determine proper response and to provide accurate information to inquiries. Communicate with supervisor, employees, other departments, City officials, residents, outside agencies, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems. Assist in training employees on the various department systems and on policies and procedures for the City's departments. Performs other related duties as required. Qualifications REQUIRES high school graduation and 1 year of public or private sector experience in customer service work; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education. For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained. Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical. If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
