The Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) is a fully integrated Health and Human Services Agency with a staff of 742 employees and a complex operating budget of approximately $277 million. HHSA services include Public Health; Adult & Aging (including homelessness, veteran’s services, and Public Guardian); Children, Youth & Family (Child Welfare); Service Centers (including Cal Fresh, Medi-Cal, and other public assistance programs); and the Administration Branch, which provides support to all branches. Under executive direction of the Director of Health and Human Services, the Assistant Director plans, organizes, and directs the administrative and support services functions of the HHSA along with assisting the Director with the administration and direction of the agency.
The County of Yolo is seeking an empathetic, strategic, and experienced leader who is even tempered with excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing. An Assistant Director who can create cohesion, inspire staff, and listen to the staff’s needs and feedback is desired. The ideal candidate has a high emotional IQ, is compassionate, and believes in the mission of the HHSA. Candidates with strong executive project management skills are desired as are those who possess experience managing Request for Proposals (RFP) and contracts. Candidates who are detail oriented and have a roll-up-your-sleeves approach to work will thrive.
The salary for the Assistant Director, Health and Human Services Agency is $195,894 to $238,118; placement within this range is dependent on the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate.
