The JobArrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for a compassionate and skilled
Social Worker II to provide complex, hospital-based social work services to patients within the
Adolescent Behavioral Health Unit, with coverage of the adult behavioral health unit as needed. In this role, you will assess patients’ psychosocial, behavioral health, and post-discharge needs; provide crisis intervention and supportive counseling; and coordinate safe, effective discharge plans. The Social Worker II works closely with interdisciplinary hospital teams, families, and community agencies to ensure continuity of care for patients experiencing acute mental health conditions, emotional distress, or family crises. Ideal candidates bring strong clinical judgment, experience working with adolescents and psychiatric populations, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity healthcare environment.

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:- Provide counseling, crisis intervention, and case management services to individuals, families, adolescents, and behavioral health clients.
- Assess psychosocial needs, develop service and treatment plans, and coordinate community resources.
- Report abuse, neglect, and endangerment investigations and collaborate with partner agencies on interventions.
- Support hospital patients through assessment, discharge planning, and family counseling.
- Participate in intake evaluations and supportive counseling under licensed clinical supervision.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and community partners to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate records, attend case staffing, and respond to time-sensitive or crisis situations as needed.
ARROWHEAD REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER ARMC, which is owned and operated by San Bernardino County, is a state-of-the-art 456 bed university-affiliated teaching medical center featuring the newest in technology in the field of patient care. ARMC is host to a 24-hour Emergency Department providing more than 90,000 annual visits, a Level I Trauma Center verified by the American College of Surgeons, a Regional Burn Center, Behavioral Health Services, Outpatient Specialty Clinics and four Primary Care Family Health Centers (FHC). The FHCs offer comprehensive primary care medical services to individuals and families of all age groups. The FHCs are staffed with experienced attending physicians and resident physicians from the Medical Center. ARMC is a Primary Stroke Center and has a Baby Friendly designation from Baby-Friendly USA with over 2800 births per year. The Neonatal Intensive Care is a 30 bed Community California Children's Services certified unit.

Summary of Benefits Administrative Services Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Pre-Employment Process: Applicants selected for these positions must pass a background investigation, physical and verification of employment history and education.
Availability: ARMC is a 24-hour acute care hospital. Incumbents may be required to work the following shifts: day, swing, night, rotating, holidays and/or weekends. Make sure to indicate a willingness to work these alternate schedules on your application.

Minimum RequirementsApplicants must qualify under
one of the following options:
OPTION A: A Bachelor's degree in Social Work (BSW), which included a supervised social work internship, practicum, or field work experience. *
OPTION B: A Bachelor's degree in behavioral science, psychology, sociology, social services, human services, behavioral anthropology, gerontology, cultural and gender studies, or human development*
AND 480 hours of experience obtained in a supervised internship, practicum, or equivalent work or field work experience providing mental health, substance use disorder, or social work services such as interviewing and referring clients, non-clinical counseling, and social casework services in a human services agency.
NOTE: Candidates with degree titles not specified above (e.g. Criminal Justice, Political Science, etc.) may be considered under Option C below and
must provide coursework for review.)
OPTION C: Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed college coursework as described in Option B,
half of which must be upper division AND one (1) year of experience equivalent to an entry-level social worker. Equivalent duties include primary responsibility for interviewing and referring clients, non-clinical counseling, and providing social casework services as determined by Human Resources.
* Candidates in Final Year of Bachelor's Program : Applications will be accepted from individuals who are within 120 days of completing a qualifying degree (Option A or B), provided they meet minimum requirements for experience at the time of application . Job offers may be made contingent upon degree completion;
verification of qualifications will be required prior to hire. Required Documentation : A list of completed coursework or copies of transcripts
must be submitted with the application unless the applicant possesses a Bachelor's degree in one of the specified areas. Qualifying degrees or coursework must be completed at a college or university accredited by an accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. BSW/MSW degrees or coursework must be approved by the Council on Social Work Education.
Degrees or coursework completed outside of the U.S. must be accompanied by an evaluation report from a reputable credential evaluation service indicating equivalency to degrees or coursework completed at a college or university accredited by an accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. Proof of the required completed coursework and/or degree(s) will be required at the time of the interview.
Desired QualificationsBilingual Skills: Applicants fluent in American Sign Language, Arabic, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish, Tagalog and/or Vietnamese are strongly encouraged to apply. Additional compensation is associated with positions requiring the use of bilingual skills. Testing of bilingual skills may be required to receive additional compensation.
Social workers must have strong interpersonal skills enabling them to work positively and compassionately with clients of various backgrounds who may be experiencing difficult life circumstances and stressors such as homelessness, illness, behavioral health issues, or family crises.
Crisis intervention experience is highly desirable. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn/use departmental computer systems a plus.
