Why you’ll love this position:This position assists the school librarian in providing an enriched library environment for students at Missouri School for the Blind (MSB).
- Work with library materials such as large print and Braille books; newspapers and magazines; cassette and digital audio books; DVDs and videotapes; multimedia kits; Braille devices; Hotspots; CCTV; and other assistive technology devices .
- Assist with processing and cataloging all materials in the Library so that they may be circulated and tracked.
- Use library cataloging software on the computer to catalog all library materials and to add records to the library’s online catalog.
- Assist with copying, collating, typing, filing, and organizing library materials.
- Use a word processor to create book lists, overdue lists, etc.
- Repair and cleans library materials or helps arrange repair by third parties.
- Take on special projects, such as shifting, relocating, and weeding various library collections.
- Assist students and staff in locating information and checking out library materials and assistive technology devices.
- Print 3-D items as requested by the Outreach department.
- Perform related tasks as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED certificate required
- 60 college hours preferred.
Computer Skills: Keyboard skills equivalent to 30 wpm with a maximum of two errors required.
