This position may be filled at one of three levels based on knowledge, skills, and abilities. The entry salary is posted above, an intermediate starting salary of $56,712.48 and a senior starting salary of $61,294.44.Why you’ll love this position:The risk management specialist position performs entry-level to moderately complex activities in the areas of risk management programs and processes including, but not limited to, the administration of self-insurance programs, employee safety programs, loss control and loss prevention programs, and employee occupational health programs. What you’ll do: - Investigate workers’ compensation, fleet vehicle liability, and general liability claims involving minor to serious physical injury and/or minor to extensive property damage; set up case files, takes statements, prepares estimates, takes photographs, and negotiates settlements within designated authority.
- Generate reports for use in the statistical analysis and development of loss prevention programs.
- Serve as a liaison during insurance claim investigations with employees, attorneys, claimants, claim administrators, repair shops, car rental companies and independent appraisers.
- Review policies and procedures related to loss control and loss prevention activities to determine their financial impact; conducts research related to claim administration activities to prepare reports or develop recommendations.
- Assists in the development and implementation of innovative efficiencies in Risk Management processe s.
All you need for success:Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree: Behavioral Science, Business Administration, Public Administration, Risk Management, Safety Management, or related field, OR
- Four years of experience in a professional position in a risk management area.
Special Working Conditions: - Job requires occasional, statewide overnight travel.
