The Sheriff's Department is recruiting for a Sheriff's Food Services Manager who plans, organizes, directs and coordinates the food service activities at all Sheriff's correctional and detention facilities; inspects Sheriff's station kitchens and monitors supply and equipment needs; organizes field kitchen operations as needed.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
1) Background: Prior to appointment, applicants will be fingerprinted and must pass an extensive background investigation, including a polygraph examination. Applicants must not have been convicted of a felony.
2) Shift: Applicants must be available for all shifts; incumbents will be required to work rotating shifts, or be on call for work, on weekends, holidays, and evenings, including mandatory overtime; refusal of assigned shift may result in removal from the list or termination.
3) Travel: A valid California Class C Driver License is required to carry out the essential job-related functions of this position. Mileage reimbursement and proof of automobile liability insurance must be maintained.
4) Location: Incumbents may be required to work at any of the Sheriff's correctional/institutional facilities located in Rancho Cucamonga, San Bernardino or the High Desert, and all candidates must indicate their willingness to work at any location.
5 ) Certificate: Must possess a County Food Handler certificate at time of hire or Incumbents must obtain a San Bernardino County Food Handlers Certificate within two weeks of appointment.
6) Sponsorship: Please note San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.
Minimum Requirements
Experience: Four (4) years of institutional food services experience, which included at least two (2) years of supervisory or management responsibility.
Desired Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a secure detention facility in the presence of inmates.
Selection Process
Examination : There will be a competitive evaluation of qualifications based on a review of the Application and Supplemental Questionnaire.
