JOB SUMMARYThe Site Supervisor plays a key role in delivering a safe, engaging, and enriching Summer Fun Program for children ages 7-14. This position supports program leadership by overseeing activity leaders, managing daily operations, and ensuring high-quality recreational experiences that foster learning and community connection. By maintaining a well-organized site and leading age-specific programming, the role directly contributes to creating a memorable and impactful summer for participants.

June 1, 2026 , for staff training, and camp runs from
June 8, 2026 - July 31, 2026 ; camps run for 8 weeks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Supervise Assistant Site Supervisor and Activity Leaders; provide training and guidance on City and departmental policies; ensure effective delivery of recreational programming for approximately 150 participants.
- Maintain participant safety during on-site and off-site activities; enforce program rules; administer first aid as needed; complete required documentation and conduct daily safety inspections.
- Promote active participation in all activities; ensure children are consistently accounted for; uphold safety protocols, including pickup and drop-off procedures.
- Organize and oversee age-appropriate recreational activities both on campus and offsite, including structured games, swimming, bowling, movies, and field trips; ensure safe transportation of participants.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized campus environment through routine upkeep and facility care.
- Provide parent-child counseling when necessary to support positive program experiences.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of related experience required
- Valid Texas Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
- CPR/First Aid Certification is required during week of training- administered by City of San Marcos
- Must work the full 9-week program, including training week.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Extensive experience working with children is preferred.
COMPETENCIES AND ENVIRONMENT KNOWLEGDE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES - Knowledge of City and departmental policies, procedures, and safety standards to ensure compliance and proper application in daily operations.
- Skill in reading and interpreting policies and manuals, and in writing clear reports, activity logs, safety inspection forms, and accident documentation.
- Skill in effective verbal and written communication to maintain positive relationships with staff, supervisors, participants, and parents.
- Ability to perform duties safely, apply policies appropriately, and supervise children at all times to maintain a secure environment.
- Ability to foster an atmosphere that promotes challenge, learning, and growth while ensuring participant engagement and well-being.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS This position requires the ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally. Subject to standing, sitting, walking, vision, hearing and talking frequently; lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, kneeling, crouching, crawling, bending, twisting, climbing and balancing occasionally.
WORK ENVIRONMENT Working conditions involve indoor and outdoor work, in the heat, sun, high humidity and wind; occasionally exposed to swimming pool chemicals, slippery surfaces; noise around crowds and whistles.
