Job Location: This position will be located at Missouri Air National Guard, 705 Memorial Drive, St Joseph, MO, 139 th Civil Engineering Squadron
This is a second-level vocational position specializing in carpentry which will include; repair/installation of commercial door hardware, repair/troubleshooting of electric gates and overhead doors, and the repair/painting of sheetrock. Positions are accountable for completing skilled work within a specialized trade and can apply trade- specific knowledge to troubleshooting and work that is complex or varied in nature. Maintain inventory and assessments for structural property in computer-based system.
Minimum Qualifications - Must be a great team player with a customer first mind set, you will need a can-do attitude with the desire to learn new skills and troubleshooting techniques. You will need to be able to switch gears and change priorities on the fly.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Will need basic knowledge of the commercial and residential carpentry and mechanical trades. You will need to know how to use power tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Must be self-motivated.
- Must be able to communicate with customers and supervisors clearly.
Preferred Qualifications - 4 years of experience in the carpentry field.
- Key cutting and core pinning experience.
- Overhead/Garage door maintenance.
- Mechanical gate maintenance.
Knowledge, skills & abilitiesKnowledge of basic methods and techniques used in traditional building and/or mechanical trades. Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the specialized trades. Ability to use hand and power tools. Ability to follow detailed technical direction. Skill in procedures, processes, regulations, and practices applicable to assigned specialized trade. Skill in operations and maintenance of equipment and tools. Ability to lift and carry heavy loads, bend, reach, climb ladder, and work from heights.
