- This is a second-level professional position accountable for examining, accounting for, reconciling, analyzing, and interpreting accounting data and records. At this level, employees apply professional and technical accounting knowledge to undertake analysis and interpretations of financial information and data in accordance with general and government accounting practices and principles. Incumbents are accountable for working under the guidance or within the framework of established processes, systems practices and regulations and applying those to perform work, research information, and make evaluations and recommendations.
All you need for success as an Intermediate Accountant: In addition to those identified in the previous levels : Skills in applying varied acceptable and established accounting methods to resolve financial issues. Ability to interpret Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Typical qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience and/or appropriate certification. (Substitutions may be allowed)
