Job Location: This position will be located at Roberts Building, 1706 E. Elm Street, Jefferson City, MO 65102.
Why you’ll love this position:The Behavioral Health Program Specialist will be responsible for participating in the implementation, development, coordination, and maintenance regarding: the Comprehensive Psychiatric Rehabilitation (CPR) Program, Comprehensive Substance Treatment and Rehabilitation (CSTAR) Program, the Community Mental Health Services (MHBG) and Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment (SABG) Block Grant; and other initiatives deemed valuable for the integration of mental illness and substance use.
This position will work closely with colleagues at the Department of Social Services/MO HealthNet (DSS/MHD); the Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS); the Missouri Behavioral Health Council; state contracted behavioral health providers, and other community stakeholders.
The base salary offered for this position is up to $52,000.00 annually, commensurate with education and experience. If the selected candidate is eligible for a pay differential, such as retention pay, the total salary may exceed what is listed in this posting.
Job Duties: - Collect, analyze, store, and disseminate program-specific records, applicable data, documents, and reports.
- Communicate with DMH Staff including but not limited to Regional Staff, Fiscal, Contracts, Policy, Research, Prevention, community stakeholders, etc.
- Conduct or oversee all program specific trainings and presentations; and provide technical assistance as needed.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Respond to requests for program information and distribute them as needed in a timely manner.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of CPR, CSTAR, MHBG, and SABG
- Active participation on several collaborative workgroups, including but not limited to, implementation teams and physical health initiatives.
- Plan and facilitate recurring meetings regarding behavioral health programming.
Required Skills: This position requires professional oral and written communication skills. Applicants must be well-organized and able to successfully manage numerous work priorities. Applicants must possess effective training skills and excellent writing skills. Experience with DBH contracted services and Medicaid programming is strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:A bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field or four years of progressive professional experience. Experience working with individuals with substance use disorder and/or mental illness is preferred.
