A team member in this position will provide supervision to a team of 6-7 public health data technicians, ensure quality customer service is provided to the general public, local, state, and federal government entities and courts, and to data providers on a daily basis over the phone, in person, or by written correspondence.
The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.
- Provides thoughtful and skilled supervision and mentoring to a team of 6-7 data technicians and call center oversight
- Retrieves vital records and makes frequent decisions in accordance with established state laws, agency policies, regulations and rules, and procedures regarding the entering, sharing, and/or issuing of vital records; receives, reviews, verifies, and processes health and medical data, forms, and legal judgements and court documents related to vital records
- Makes amendments to vital records, reviews reports for missing, erroneous or inconsistent information, obtains necessary information from hospitals, doctors, laboratories, or other data providers to ensure that data files are complete and correct and files records as required by state statute and regulation
- Prepares and issues certified and non-certified copies of birth, death, fetal death/stillbirth, adoption, marriage, and divorce records pursuant to the state statute and regulations. Accepts required fees for the production of vital records and balances cash with register receipts daily
- Prepares other correspondence such as single-status letters, passport letters, and non-certified copies of supporting documents to send out as requested
Minimum Qualifications: - Four (4) or more years of experience processing technical, medical, legal, or other confidential data or reviewing official or legal documentation for compliance and/or validity and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency OR a bachelor’s degree and 0-2 years of relevant experience
- You will operate in a fast-paced, confidential environment which requires a high focus, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask
- You should excel in supervision, customer service skills with internal and external customers, and be proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, including Microsoft Access, composing correspondence and reports, collecting data, presenting information, and writing articles for publication
- You will be working in a multi-team member environment which requires emotional intelligence, experience in exercising autonomy, and the ability to use analytical thinking skills and requires a professional demeanor when interacting with customers and stakeholders
