Job Location: This position will be located at Central Office 1706 E Elm Street Jefferson City, MO 65101.

The Missouri Department of Mental Health Investigations Unit (IU) seeks an Abuse/Neglect Investigator to be domiciled in Jefferson City, Missouri, within the IU’s Central Region. Hybrid/remote work options may be available after completion of a successful onboarding process and training.
Responsibilities:- Conduct abuse/neglect investigations by initiating investigations in compliance with Department Operating Regulations; reviewing provider records and documentation; interviewing staff, individuals served by the department, and other persons involved in the alleged incident; and drafting investigative reports based on findings.
- Travel within the immediate catchment area of central Missouri and as needed to assist the eastern and western regions across the state. This may include some overnight travel.
- Hours are generally Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM, but onsite and travel hours can vary depending on the availability of individuals to be interviewed and other factors.
- This is an intermediate, non-commissioned investigator position with opportunity for advancement.
Preferred Qualifications:- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Four to five years of investigative experience in the mental health field or related fields.
Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
