    This position will domicile at the MVE Building at 1717 Industrial Drive in Jefferson City.

    The position will serve as a Reentry Coordinator and provide guidance for the Missouri Department of Corrections regarding Reentry Services. The position will engage with representatives from partnering state departments, reentry providers, and local community stakeholders state-wide. Will work in a collaborative effort with other DORS Reentry and education coordinators. Through this role you will play an essential function through assisting individuals with reintegration and the reduction of barriers, as well as enhancing public safety in the state of Missouri. Daily work schedule will range from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. There may be some occasional travel as well as on rare occasion some evening and weekend work. This is not a remote position.

    Duties include, developing training programs for staff and offenders, build partnerships with second chance employers, ensure industry-standard preparation for employment success and coordinates OSHA certification programs

    Minimum Qualifications:

    This position requires three or more years of experience with the Missouri Department of Corrections or another correctional agency. Experience with the Missouri workforce systems, social services and community partnerships may be substituted for correctional experience.

    (Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university may substitute on a year-to-year basis for the required experience at a rate of 30 credit hours for one year)

    Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

    • Understanding of curriculum development
    • Understanding of educational standards and regulatory requirements is beneficial
    • An understanding of the Department of Corrections structure, strategic plan and mission.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as a team member with staff at all levels.
    • Ability to work with constituents, employers and community stakeholders.

    Contingent upon your position, you may also be eligible to receive:

    • A $2.00 per hour shift differential if you are assigned to a shift that begins on or between 12:00 pm (noon) and 5:00 am and are employed at a 24/7 congregate care facility (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or the command center).
    • A $0.75 per hour maximum security stipend if you work full-time at a qualifying facility.
    • A $1.00 per hour restrictive housing stipend if you are assigned a regular post within a restrictive housing/segregation unit at any facility .


    The Department of Corrections currently offers a guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of continuous service up to 20 years!
