The Job
The office of the Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk is recruiting for Title Transfer Technicians I. This class is responsible for reviewing recorded documents and determining change in ownership for assessment purposes, determining exclusion and exemption eligibility, interpreting, researching, and verifying legal descriptions of real property parcels. In addition, Title Transfer Technicians I will respond to public inquiries pertaining but not limited to: ownership, exclusions, exemptions, reassessment, and legal descriptions of real property.

The County also offers an alternative Modified Benefits Option (MBO) that provides a wage differential.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
1) Applicant must successfully pass a background check prior to appointment.
2) A valid California Class C Driver License may be required to carry out the essential job-related functions of this position. Mileage reimbursement and proof of automobile liability insurance must be maintained.

Minimum Requirements
CANDIDATES MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
EXPERIENCE
Must possess eighteen (18) months of experience explaining change in ownership, exclusion and exemption property tax laws, processing legal property documents (i.e., deeds, titles, liens) and interpreting legal descriptions of real property parcels. (Experience equivalent to a Title Transfer Technician in a California Assessor's Office).

The ideal candidate will have strong decision-making skills, a high degree of accuracy in completed work and experience in a California Assessor's office.
