Job Location: Location will be determined by proximity of successful candidate's home to the nearest maintenance facility located within the 18-county area of Mid-Missouri found within MoDOT's Central District.Why you’ll love this position:The equipment technician intern performs entry-level skilled work in the maintenance and repair of light vehicles and heavy construction equipment. Responsibilities are performed under moderate supervision.
What you’ll do: - Maintains and performs basic repairs to automobiles, trucks, tractors, loaders, motor graders and other heavy equipment.
- Reviews equipment maintenance records and observes employees in the operation of equipment to determine and correct operator error and ensure proper maintenance.
- Gathers computerized diagnostic information to assess vehicle repair needs.
- Requisitions and stores shop supplies.
- Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.
All you need for success:Minimum Qualifications - Enrolled in a relevant 2-year/associate’s degree program full-time (12+ credit hours).
- 30 credit hours completed/accepted toward current degree program. High school or other postsecondary program credits must be shown to be accepted by the current program through a degree transcript to apply.
- Possess and maintain an overall GPA of at least 2.0 out of 4.0, or equivalent.
