Why you’ll love this position: The Engineering Intern (Highway Designer LPA) is responsible for aiding in the administration of MoDOT’s Local Public Agency (LPA) program. Responsibilities are performed under moderate supervision.
- Review and file required LPA project documentation and work with local agencies and MoDOT Staff to ensure documentation is accurate. This can include, but is not limited to project application files, concurrence in award requests, and project closeout documentation.
- Take part in policy discussions and help with updating and producing standard forms and guidance documents.
- Aid in coordination between MoDOT’s Central Office Design Division and MoDOT District staff.
- Help with consultant and contractor matters on LPA projects.
- Support MoDOT LPA staff in general daily activities and compile LPA program tracking data.
Minimum Qualifications - Enrolled in a relevant bachelor’s or post-bachelor’s degree program full-time (12+ credit hours).
- 30 credit hours completed/accepted toward current degree program. High school or other postsecondary program credits must be shown to be accepted by the current program through a degree transcript to apply.
- Possess and maintain an overall GPA of at least 2.0 out of 4.0, or equivalent.
Special Working Conditions: - This is a wage, non-benefits eligible position, working no more than 1,039 hours per year.
- Job may require occasional, statewide, overnight travel.
