    Job Location: This position will be located at 930 Wildwood Drive, Jefferson City, MO 65109.

    Why you’ll love this position:

    This public health preparedness position assist in activities to better prepare health care and public health partners across the state for disease outbreaks, natural disasters, and other health impacts. You with be assisting senior staff with the implementation of the Public Health Preparedness (PHEP) grant. You'll also work with local public health agencies on emergency preparedness task while providing technical assistance and routinely interact in preparedness activities with other stakeholders.

    The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.

    What you’ll do:

    • Assist the PHEP coordinator with planning and technical assistance task to local public health agencies and PHEP contractors.
    • Coordinate state-wide planning relative to public health system preparedness including state and regional public health emergency response plans.
    • Track data for performance measures and all requirement of the federal grant funding system. Enter data into grant application and reporting platforms as required by the federal grant system
    • Helps compile the annual grant application preparation and submission to include annual budget and work plan, responses to
    • Conditions of Award or Needs More Information inquiries from federal funder.
    • Aids in establishing routine meetings between DHSS and partners to strenthen communication and partnerships.
    • Reviews and prepares contractors' scopes of work and releated documents for review.
    • Assist the Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP) team with statewide plan reviews and updates relevant to the program.
    • Coordinate with statewide partners, Healthcare Coalitions and other contractors, to compile and review grant deliverables.
    • Assist with ESF-08 deployments at SEOC.


    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
    • 3-5 years of public health or medical emergency management experience preferred; contract development and monitoring experience preferred.
