Job Location: This position will be located at a domicile within the state that is determined by the selected applicant's location and available space.

    Why you’ll love this position:

Do you have a passion for making a positive impact for individuals with special health care needs and their families? Then come join our dynamic team! The Bureau of Special Health Care Needs (SHCN) is seeking a professional, qualified, compassionate, and dedicated candidate to fill a Senior Public Health Program Specialist position. This position will have the opportunity to work across all of SHCN's programs as well as collaborate with other bureaus and programs within the Division of Senior and Disability Services (DSDS). This fast paced position will focus on training, quality enhancement/assurance, and data collection/analysis/reporting for SHCN.

The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.

    • Assist with the development and maintenance of standardized training materials and onboarding processes for SHCN programs.
    • Collaborate with SHCN staff to develop enhanced and consistent quality assurance processes across programs.
    • Assist with daily quality assurance functions, including comprehensive case record reviews, as well as provide technical and training assistance to other SHCN staff who perform quality assurance activities.
    • Facilitate data collection and analysis related to programmatic initiatives, identify trends, and make recommendations for quality improvement strategies.
    • Assure SHCN data collection, analysis, and reporting are reliable and consistent.
    • Collaborate with SHCN and DSDS/Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) staff to make recommendations to align SHCN policies and procedures with the rest of HCBS.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree and 4 or more years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed based on education and relevant experience)
    • Experience in training development and implementation.
    • Experience in quality enhancement/assurance.
    • Intermediate data analysis skills.
    • Strong leadership, communication (verbal and written), and independent decision-making skills.
    • Excellent project and time management skills.
    • A positive attitude and the ability to work well with others are strong qualifications for this role.
    • This position requires occasional (statewide and out-of-state) travel and could include some overnights.

Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
