Job Location: West Central MO (preferred domicile counties include: St. Clair, Cedar, Dade, Polk or Hickory)
Why you’ll love this position:The market news team is looking for an individual with a passion for livestock who enjoys the fast-paced environment of an auction setting. This is a customer service based position which focuses on the collection of price data and trends which affect trade in the livestock industry.
This is a part-time benefited position located in West Central Missouri, this position will work less than 1040 hours in a 12-month period.
- Prepare records of market activity utilizing official United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) standards.
- Attend specific designated livestock markets on an as needed basis, primarily cattle auctions, but small animal markets on occasion.
- Day travel, occasional overnight stays and/or Saturday work will be required.
- Communicate effectively and establish good working relationships with producers and stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: - Four (4) or more years of professional or technical experience in the livestock industry which affords a knowledge of agricultural production and marketing techniques. Required experience may be obtained through work experience or the completion of a bachelor’s degree with a specialization in agriculture, marketing, business, public administration or a closely related field.
- Possess a valid MO Driver's License.
