    Job Location: This position will be located at a remote, work from home, location. Successful candidate must reside within the assigned district of one of the following counties: St. Louis, St. Charles, Lincoln, Pike, Ralls, Marion, Shelby, Monroe, Audrain, Warren and Montgomery. Applicants from surrounding areas will also be considered. Job duties require daily travel. Successful candidate will also be required to attend training and conduct presentations for registrants within assigned district.

    This is a seasoned non-commissioned investigator position which may be accountable for leading and overseeing activities to assist the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs in the efforts to reduce drug abuse, drug thefts and losses. This is a very flexible position, allowing you to work independently and from home at times. You will be provided all of the equipment necessary to be successful in this position. The successful candidate will be assigned a district that will include numerous counties where you will be responsible to ensuring compliance with Missouri controlled substance statutes and regulations.

    The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.

    • Investigate complaints of improper prescribing, stocking, administering or dispensing of controlled substances by medical practitioners.
    • Conduct inspections of pharmacies and medical practice locations to ensure compliance with Missouri's statutes and regulations governing controlled substance security and records keeping.
    • Respond to inquiries via telephone calls or email from BNDD registrants in your assigned district regarding use, security and records keeping of controlled substances.
    • Recommend appropriate disciplinary actions for violation of statutes and regulations.
    • Work with local law enforcement, DEA and other state agencies in the enforcement of controlled substance statutes and regulation's.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or a closely related field; and
    • 5 years or more of P.O.S.T. law enforcement experience with powers of arrest
    • Valid Missouri driver's license and the ability to operate State owned vehicles
    • Ability to work independently, conduct thorough investigations, document complete and factual evidence based reports, and testify during proceedings when necessary
    • Successfully pass criminal and employed disqualification (EDL) background checks
