The Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH) - Office of Human Resources, seeks a Human Resources Generalist to support the DMH Central Office team members. This position will be a part of the Central Office Human Resources team and is based in Jefferson City, Missouri.

The base salary offered for this position ranges from $50,000.00 - $56,000.00, commensurate with education and experience. If the selected candidate is eligible for a pay differential, such as retention pay, the total salary may exceed what is listed in this posting.
What you’ll do: - Serve as a point of contact for Central Office supervisors in the recruitment and hiring process, including posting positions through HireTrue, reviewing applications, and coordinating background screenings.
- Advise Central Office staff on HR-related issues including professional development, promotional opportunities, policy interpretation, hiring processes, leave administration, and position management.
- Understand and communicate benefits to Central Office employees, including changes in health insurance, retirement, life insurance, Cafeteria Plan, and Deferred Compensation.
- Coordinate and process personnel actions across various systems, including SAMII HR, ensuring accurate data entry by pre-determined cutoff dates.
- Monitor compliance with state and federal employment regulations and internal policies.
- Assist in other areas of HR as needed.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree preferred with a major in Human Resources, Business or other related fields
or 3-5 years of relevant experience in Human Resources. Relevant experience may substitute for education.
Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced team environment. Strong time management, organizational skills, as well as the ability to analyze data, troubleshoot issues, and propose practical solutions. Ability to protect and maintain strict confidentiality.
