Job Location: Southwest District Office (3025 E. Kearney, Springfield, MO 65802)

The planning intern provides basic technical or paraprofessional support of engineering projects and programs involving the collection, classification, and summarization of transportation planning data. Responsibilities are performed under moderate supervision.- Compile and tabulate data used in assigned sections; calculate percentages and ratios using raw data.
- Maintain files and records for analysis and presentation; maintain databases.
- Assist in the preparation of charts, graphs, and maps using current technology.
- Compile, scan and enter job data into project history database; maintain written and electronic records of historical data.
- Collect field data and assists in preliminary analysis of data; summarize and code data for computer processing.
- May attend public meetings to help educate the public on upcoming projects.
- May compile and coordinate the printing and distribution of project or information booklets for distribution to federal, state and other agencies.
- Perform other responsibilities as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications- Enrolled in a relevant bachelor’s or post-bachelor’s degree program full-time (12+ credit hours).
- 30 credit hours completed/accepted toward current degree program. High school or other postsecondary program credits must be shown to be accepted by the current program through a degree transcript to apply.
- Possess and maintain an overall GPA of at least 2.0 out of 4.0, or equivalent.
