The
San Bernardino County Real Estate Services Department (RESD) is hosting a hiring event to recruit experienced and motivated real estate professionals for multiple vacancies at the
Real Property Agent II and
Real Property Agent III levels. These positions play a critical role in delivering real estate projects that support County operations, public infrastructure, and long-term community development in atimely, cost-effective, and service-oriented manner.
Applicants will advance in the selection process and be considered for positions depending on qualifications as determined by Human Resources. Interviews are by invitation only and applications must be submitted by the posted deadline . Candidates may be hired at either the Real Property Agent II or Real Property Agent III level, depending on their qualifications.
This event will be used to fill vacancies in the following divisions:
- Real Property Agent II - Acquisitions and Leasing & Property Management
- Real Property Agent III - Acquisitions
Real Property Agent II - $70,844.80 - $97,344.00 Annually Real Property Agent IIs perform a variety of complex real estate functions, from managing County leases to acquiring property for public projects.
- Acquisitions: Acquire land and easements for public infrastructure, interpret appraisals and legal documents, support eminent domain cases, and coordinate surplus property sales.
- Leasing & Property Management: Negotiate and manage leases, coordinate tenant improvements and relocations, resolve landlord/tenant issues, and ensure lease compliance.
Real Property Agent III - $77,979.20 - $107,473.60 Annually As a senior-level negotiator and project lead, the Real Property Agent III manages high-level, sensitive property transactions and provides leadership and mentorship to other agents.
Acquisitions: - Lead complex property acquisitions for County infrastructure and development projects.
- Guide acquisition strategies, manage consultant contracts, and oversee related improvement projects.
- Provide expert recommendations, prepare analytical reports, and represent the County in negotiations.
- Mentor and train Real Property Agent IIs.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Pre-Employment Process: Applicants must successfully pass a background check and a job-related physical exam, including a drug test, prior to employment.
Travel: A valid California Class C Driver License is required to carry out the essential job-related functions of this position. Mileage reimbursement and proof of automobile liability insurance must be maintained.

Minimum RequirementsQualified candidates must meet the education requirement and
one of the experience options below for each level:
EDUCATION: Both Levels: Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed college coursework in real estate, public/business administration, economics, or other closely related field. A list of coursework must be submitted with the application.
Substitution: One (1) additional year of qualifying experience may substitute the education requirement.
EXPERIENCE: Real Property Agent II OPTION 1 : Three (3) years of full-time professional
commercial real estate experience in
at least one or a combination of the following areas:
real property acquisition, commercial leasing, or property management in the public or private sector.
OPTION 2 : Two (2) years as a
Real Property Agent I with San Bernardino County or a comparable public agency.
Real Property Agent III OPTION 1 : Four (4) years of full-time professional
commercial real estate experience in
at least one or a combination of the following areas:
real property acquisition, commercial leasing, or property management; must include
one yea r of qualifying experience in a public agency or representing public agencies in commercial real estate transactions.
OPTION 2 : Three (3) years as a
Real Property Agent II with San Bernardino County or in an equivalent or higher-level classification within a comparable public agency.
Note: Both Levels : Qualifying experience must be in mixed use, office, industrial, or retail environment.
Residential experience is not considered qualifying . Desired QualificationsThe ideal candidates will bring a strong mix of education, technical expertise, and professional experience in real estate, with a proven ability to deliver results in a service-oriented environment.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Public or Business Administration, Economics, or a closely related field is highly desirable.
- Technical Expertise: Experience negotiating and acquiring real property, including work on public projects and eminent domain matters. Senior Right of Way (SR/WA) designation from the International Right of Way Association is highly desirable.
- Public Agency Experience: Prior experience working with public agencies, particularly in leasing, acquisitions, or right-of-way projects.
- Project Management: Demonstrated ability to deliver projects efficiently, on time, and within budget while maintaining a strong focus on customer service.
- Leadership: Proven leadership experience, or the potential and strong desire to grow into a leadership role, with the ability to mentor and collaborate effectively with others.
