    San Bernardino County Human Resources are seeking a dynamic and community-oriented Career Bridge Coordinator to lead efforts in promoting and facilitating access to career opportunities within the county. This position will develop and manage programs such as internships, apprenticeships, summer youth employment, and other workforce initiatives aimed at educating and connecting the community with rewarding careers in the county.
    Typical duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
    • Design and implement career bridge programs that enhance community access to county jobs.
    • Reviews, develops, and organizes program activities, timelines, and resources to ensure effective execution; develop program procedures and supporting materials.
    • Coordinate internship, apprenticeship, and youth employment initiatives, ensuring alignment with county workforce needs.
    • Collaborates with various stakeholders to create and maintain project plans, working closely to achieve program goals and objectives.
    • Monitors program progress, milestones, and deliverables.
    • Collects, organizes, and analyzes data related to program performance, outcomes, and impact.
    • Supports community outreach initiatives and participates in County career awareness efforts.
    • Leads community engagement initiatives, including outreach, needs assessments, and partnership development.
    • Identifies opportunities for program enhancement and aids in implementing corrective measures.
    • Engages with local businesses and industry leaders to identify emerging workforce trends and align program offerings accordingly.
    • Facilitates workshops and training sessions for participants and stakeholders, promoting skill development and knowledge sharing.
    • Develops marketing and communication strategies to promote program visibility and attract diverse participants.
    • Prepares and presents comprehensive reports to stakeholders, highlighting program achievements and areas for improvement.
    • Ensures compliance with relevant regulations and standards, maintaining program integrity and quality.
    • Mentors and supports program participants, guiding them through career pathways and providing resources for success.
    • Stays informed about best practices in career development and education, integrating innovative approaches into program strategies.

    In addition to these responsibilities, the Career Bridge Coordinator is expected to cultivate a supportive environment that values diversity and encourages participation from all community members. They will act as a key liaison between the County’s Human Resources department and local educational institutions, ensuring both parties benefit from collaborative efforts. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, program development, and the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the workforce.

    **Salary increases contingent upon Property Related Revenue and/or statewide Realignment Sales Tax Collections performance.

    As an alternative to the traditional benefits package, you may also be eligible to elect the Modified Benefit Option (MBO) that provides an increased base rate of pay (4% above the base rate of pay) with modified benefits.     CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

    Shift Availability : Shift availability may change for any given event, as well as across geographic regions. Shift assignments are made solely at the discretion of the Director and based on department needs. Employees must be willing to accept ALL shifts, including mandatory overtime. The incumbents may be required to work rotating, swing, night, weekend, day, on call, and graveyard shifts, as well as holidays and weekends (which may include overtime). Refusal of assigned shift may result in removal from the list or termination. Shift availability may change due to department operational needs.

    Travel : Travel throughout the County is required and employees will be required to make provisions for such transportation.

    Minimum Requirements

    Education
    A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Public Administration, or a closely related field.

    -AND-

    Experience
    Two (2) years of professional experience in workforce development, community outreach, and program coordination.

    Note: Qualifying degree or coursework must have been completed at a college or university accredited by an accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. Degrees or coursework completed outside the U.S. must be accompanied by an evaluation report from a reputable credential evaluation service showing equivalency to degrees or coursework completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education.

    Desired Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will have experience working with youth and underserved populations. Will be a problem solver with a strong customer service focus and exceptional verbal and written communication skills; will have excellent planning and organizing skills with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple assignments and/or projects; and will be able to work effectively with others, both internally and externally, at various levels in the organization.
