  • Associate's degree, plus one (1) year of public event or other related experience.
  • Completion of thirty (30) semester college hours may substitute for one (1) year of the required education with a maximum substitution of two (2) years.
  • Experience may substitute for the education up to the maximum of two (2) years.

Licenses or Certifications:
  • Appropriate level of driver's license as specified for the individuals job.

    The Austin Convention Center Security and Safety Division is seeking a qualified candidate to fulfill the role of Facility Services Representative for the third shift (9:30 PM - 5:30 AM).
    The Facility Services Representative is a uniform position at the Austin Convention Center and Palmer Events Center.

    Driving Requirement:
    Driving will be required to/from multiple locations. A valid Texas driver license and current driving record that meets the requirements of the City of Austin Driver Safety Program are required. For this position the required license is a Texas Class "C" Driver License.

Pay Range
$15.87 - $18.68

  • Sunday - Saturday with Rotating Shifts in 8 week increments.
  • Shift Hours are 9:30 PM - 5:30 AM (Third Shift).

Example of rotation:
8 Weeks M-F, Sat & Sun Off.
8 Weeks F-T, Wed & Thu Off.
8 Weeks W-S, Mon & Tue Off.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a public/private assembly facility managing large crowds and individual clientele.
  • Experience working with dispatch/control center in a security operations field, including security access and video surveillance systems.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office products including but not limited to Microsoft Word for incident report writing and Microsoft Outlook for email communications.
    Duties, Functions and Responsibilities
    Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
    1. Assists clients with move-in and move-out activities.
    2. Communicates and works with Event Coordinator regarding status of event, event changes, special client/event needs, etc.
    4. Monitors facility entry and exit points.
    3. Performs facility lock-down when necessary.
    4. Perform security and safety services.
    5. Monitors and performs security and fire systems.
    6. Coordinates emergency response including evacuation process.
    7. Answers visitor/client questions and provide assistance.
    8. Observes and enforces department/facility safety and operational policies and procedures
    Responsibilities- Supervision and/or Leadership Exercised:
    Acts as point of contact for department/facility in absence of Facility Services Representative.
