We are Pecos City Texas, the number one Micropolitan in the country. Situated in West Texas adjacent to the Permian Basin we are growing and hiring an experienced Public Works Director. This position is responsible for all Public Works employees and functions. We need an engaged leader with a desire to help shape the next generation of services for this dynamic community.
The Director of Public Works manages and directs all activities and operations involving the City’s Public Works (streets, solid waste, and water and sewer utilities). This position directs the department through effective planning, staff management, and resource allocation; and assures the effective completion of projects and compliance with state and Federal regulations, City policies, procedures and goals. Position is responsible for the timely addressing of citizen complaints, both verbal and written, related to the Department’s operation. Performs a variety of administrative, supervisory and complex professional work for environmental, water, sewer, street, and other public works projects and programs ensuring technical competence and compliance with all current codes and criteria; May serve as a Project Manager.
