APA-Accredited Pre-Doctoral Internship Program The incumbent assigned to this position will function as a team member and a primary supervisory staff within an APA-Accredited Pre-Doctoral Internship Program. The supervised interns will have primary clinical assignments at various department locations throughout the county. Travel to these locations is required and related expenses will be reimbursed. The Position Licensed Psychologists provide psychological testing, evaluation, psychotherapy, counseling, and consultation to clients or inmates in residential, inpatient and outpatient settings, at a mental health, intellectual disabilities, or correctional facility, or in other settings where psychological services are provided. Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives. This position will provide support Services to inmates in a correctional setting including assessments and psychoeducation classes. The mental health professional will provide case management and behavioral/human services to persons with mental illnesses. The mental health professional will provide crisis intervention and de-escalation of crisis situations with offenders. Special Requirements Licensed Psychologist I's and Licensed Psychologist II's must possess current licensure as a Psychologist issued by the State of Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners at the time of appointment and maintain licensure as a condition of continuing employment. Psychological Assistants must maintain an approved internship with the State of Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners as a condition of continuing employment. Some positions require work on evenings, weekends and holidays. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation.
