THE POSITION The Fleet Management Technician is assigned to purchase all vehicles, equipment and trailers that are used within the City Fleet. The Fleet Management Technician purchases all vehicles and equipment to be replaced along with new additional vehicles and equipment added each fiscal year. The replacements are needed each year due to vehicle accidents, breakdowns, unrepairable issues, and end of life cycle replacements. On average 251 vehicles need to be replaced each year. The Fleet Management Technician works with the using department on their vehicle requirements and operational needs. They then write the specifications to purchase the vehicle. Finally, they work with vendors to purchase the needed vehicles and equipment. Once the vehicle or equipment is received by the City, The Fleet Management Technician works to get the vehicle upfit and placed into service. THE POSITION The Fleet Management Technician is assigned to purchase all vehicles, equipment and trailers that are used within the City Fleet. The Fleet Management Technician purchases all vehicles and equipment to be replaced along with new additional vehicles and equipment added each fiscal year. The replacements are needed each year due to vehicle accidents, breakdowns, unrepairable issues, and end of life cycle replacements. On average 251 vehicles need to be replaced each year. The Fleet Management Technician works with the using department on their vehicle requirements and operational needs. They then write the specifications to purchase the vehicle. Finally, they work with vendors to purchase the needed vehicles and equipment. Once the vehicle or equipment is received by the City, The Fleet Management Technician works to get the vehicle upfit and placed into service. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.Rehabilitation Technicians work closely with a Rehabilitation Counselor to conduct person-centered intake interviews with prospective Vocational Rehabilitation clients; complete application inputting and prescreening; and maintain regular contact with applicants throughout the Vocational Rehabilitation case. Incumbents complete case management duties whereby they coordinate evaluation appointments with state vendors; write case notes; perform labor market research on vocational goals; initiate and accept phone calls on behalf of Rehabilitation Counselors; and perform receptionist duties. In addition, incumbents prepare, record, and process authorizations and invoices, referrals, logs, letters and other correspondence for client services; maintain client case files in electronic and hard copy format to include the filing and labeling of all electronic correspondence; compile routine reports for program/counselor performance analysis; provide quality customer service to internal and external customers and accept special projects that align with the agency's goals and objectives. **This recruitment may close at any time based on the number of applications received.
