GENERAL DESCRIPTION Under the general supervision of the Recruitment Program Coordinator Lieutenant for Texas State Park Police, this temporary opportunity performs entry level to routine (journey-level) clerical work and is designed for individuals to obtain relevant work experience to be competitive for future positions in marketing, social media, and promotional programs. Duties include, but are not limited to, marketing and promotional programs, state park law enforcement observation, develop, plan, and execute creative social media content across various platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. Create and execute marketing material for conferences, career fairs and print outs. Collaborate with other Texas Parks and Wildlife employees and recruiters to align social media strategies with overall marketing objectives. Monitor social media trends, audience preferences, and industry news to remain up to date. Engage with our community, respond to comments, and foster positive online interactions. Contribute new ideas for social media campaigns and initiatives. Performs special projects/assignments and attends selected training programs to enhance the overall working knowledge and skills related to operational activities. Works under close supervision, with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned. Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Completion of the 8th grade.
Experience: No experience required.
Licensure: Must possess or be able to obtain, within 30 days of employment, a valid state driver's license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited college or university or recent graduate within the last 6 months.
Currently pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, photojournalism or a closely related field.
Minimum of 18 completed semester credit hours from an accredited college or university at time of application.
Have an overall grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 grade point scale or "Pass" on a Pass/Fail system.

This position will fluctuate between part-time and full-time status throughout the term of employment. Changing from part-time to full-time and vice versa may impact the amount of leave accrued and health insurance rates.
