Click here to be directed to the Scottsdale Water Careers webpage. About the Position: The Instrument and Controls Technician II position installs, maintains and repairs the measuring and control devices used in industrial, commercial processes and Water and Wastewater facilities.
Anticipated starting salary for this position may be up to mid-point depending on candidate’s experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and mid-point for this position is $39.22/hour. Minimum QualificationsEducation and Experience- An Associate’s Degree with major course work in electronics technology, electrical technology or related degree from an accredited educational institution.
- Four years of experience performing installation, repair and maintenance of complex electrical equipment, to include two years' experience troubleshooting and staging of Instrumentation hardware, software and related equipment, and two years' experience maintaining proper documentation (including permits, calibration records, procurement contracts, financial budgets and reports) for regulatory requirements.
- Any equivalent combination of education and/or job-related experience that meets the minimum qualifications may be substituted.
Preferred:- Experience in a water/wastewater plant or facility,
- Successful completion of a four year training at a journeymen level on industrial instrumentation equipment repair for medium and low voltages controls.
Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements- Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted driver's license with no major citations within the past 39 months prior to the start date. The Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles requires that out-of-state driver's licenses must be surrendered within 10 days of relocating to the State of Arizona.
- Must possess within six months of hire or promotion a Grade I operator certification from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality in Water Treatment or Wastewater Treatment. Must maintain certification throughout employment.
- Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.
