Job Summary
The ideal candidate:- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of California.
- Experienced in preparing and reviewing civil design plans for Public Works projects.
- Skilled in engineering research, field inspections, testing, and technical analysis.
- Knowledgeable in permitting processes and regulatory compliance.
- Provides technical guidance and lead direction to staff and project teams.
- Acts as a technical resource to consultants, agencies, and the public.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills.
- Able to work independently with limited supervision while managing multiple priorities.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
MINIMUM:Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college with major coursework in civil engineering, surveying or closely related field and four (4) years of professional civil engineering experience.
PREFERRED:In addition to the minimum, a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college and five (5) years of professional civil engineering experience in a public agency with some experience in a lead capacity.
Licenses and Certification:- The ability to obtain a valid California Class C driver's license within ten (10) days of employment; maintain throughout employment.
- Possess a valid registration as a Civil Engineer in the State of California.
- Maintain professional development and continuing education activities for valid certification as required by the position.
Special Requirements:- Must successfully complete an extensive and thorough background investigation which may include Live Scan fingerprinting prior to hire.
- DMV printout prior to hire.
- Must file statements of economic interest with the Yuba County Clerk/Recorder.
- Will be required to perform disaster service activities pursuant to Government Code 3100-3109.

The Organization:
The County of Yuba has 900 allocated positions and a total FY 19/20 budget of $203 million. It has a proud tradition of being a stable local government bolstered by five members of the Board of Supervisors who are elected for four year terms on an alternating basis. Each Supervisor represents an election district. Members of the Board of Supervisors serve as the legislative and executive body for Yuba County and provide policy direction for all branches of County government.
