    Job Summary

    The ideal candidate:
    • Demonstrates the ability to provide reliable casework and program support in a probation or social services setting
    • Effectively assists professional and technical staff with monitoring adult and juvenile probationer cases
    • Comfortable completing routine and structured office, community, and client support tasks
    • Accurate and detail-oriented in preparing forms, documents, and case-related materials
    • Works effectively in support of deputized probation officers and other department personnel
    • Communicates professionally and respectfully with clients, staff, and community partners

    Qualifications

    The minimum and preferred requirements are listed below.While the following requirements outline the minimum qualifications, Human Resources reserves the right to select applicants for further consideration who demonstrate the best qualifications match for the job.     Education and Experience:
    MINIMUM:Thirty (30) semester units from an accredited college with coursework in behavioral or social sciences, psychology, criminal justice or related field and one (1) year of client support services experience which has involved client interaction, community outreach, face to face interviews, making referrals, and/or maintaining case records.
    PREFERRED:In addition to the minimum, Associate’s degree from an accredited college with major coursework in behavioral or social sciences, psychology, criminal justice or related field and additional years of experience working with juvenile or adult offenders, children and families, the elderly, disabled, and/or dependent adults or within the criminal justice field.
    Licenses and Certification:
    • The ability to obtain a valid California Class C driver's license within ten (10) days of employment; maintain throughout employment.

    Special Requirements:
    • May be required to work outside normal working hours including evenings, weekends and other off-hours shifts.
    • Must successfully complete an extensive and thorough background investigation which may include Live Scan fingerprinting prior to hire.
    • DMV printout prior to hire.
    • Will be required to perform disaster service activities pursuant to Government Code 3100-3109.
