Starting Salary: $20.48-$30.71/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities
This is a highly responsible management position providing first-line supervisory support to the Program Manager of Life Essentials. The role oversees a team of seven staff members (Four Customer Service Representatives and three Administrative Assistants) and ensures efficient operations in compliance with city and state regulations. The position requires independent judgment, discretion, and strong leadership skills to manage complex administrative processes and deliver exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities: - Supervises and evaluates staff performance.
- Provide coaching, counseling, and disciplinary action as needed.
- Performs daily administrative duties related to the issuance of birth and death certificates to individuals and funeral home directors.
- Completes job performance appraisals and supports professional development.
- Ensures compliance with strict security protocols and confidentiality requirements.
- Responds to phone inquiries and assists staff with complex customer service issues.
- Processes online and mail orders accurately and promptly.
- Develops and implements improved systems, procedures and forms to enhance efficiency.
- Assists in policy development, timekeeping, voucher invoices summaries, and report preparation.
- Provides leadership during critical, high-volume periods such as Back2School, requiring strong organizational and communication skills.
- Conducts staff training and cross-training with Fountain IDs.
- Delivers presentations to Community Wellness Ambassadors (CWA).
- Coordinates outreach events such as Annual Project Homeless Connect KC and Health on the Block.
- Assists with financial tasks including bank runs and daily deposits.
- Works with a diverse staff and customers based in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate professionalism, respect, and adaptability during high-demand periods.
- Employees will receive official training from the State of Missouri Bureau of Vital Statistics and must maintain professional relationships with home funeral directors and staff from the Vital Records office in Jefferson City.
Qualifications
REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience to include professional experience in the development and/or operation of administrative systems, programs, policies and practice.
