    Job Summary

    The ideal candidate:
    • Commitment to serving County residents with empathy and professionalism
    • Foundational knowledge of social work principles and public assistance programs
    • Ability to work under close supervision and follow established policies and procedures
    • Skill in assessing client needs, identifying barriers, and arranging appropriate services
    • Comfortable managing a minimally complex caseload and maintaining accurate documentation
    • Strong communication, organization, and basic problem-solving skills
    • Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and grow in a structured work environment
    • Ability to work in a specific program area or provide general social service support

    Qualifications

    The minimum and preferred requirements are listed below.While the following requirements outline the minimum qualifications, the County reserves the right to select applicants for further consideration who demonstrate the best qualifications match for the job. Meeting the minimum qualifications does not guarantee further participation in selection procedures:

    Education and Experience:
    MINIMUM: 60 semester or 90 quarter units from an accredited college with at least 30 semester or 45 quarter units in behavioral or social sciences, psychology, social work, or related field and one (1) year of case management experience in a health, social services, or community-based organization.
    PREFERRED:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with major coursework in a related field and additional years of case management experience in a public agency.

    Licenses and Certification:
    • The ability to obtain a valid California Class C driver's license within ten (10) days of employment; maintain throughout employment.

    Special Requirements:
    • May be required to work outside normal working hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, and other off-hours shifts.
    • Must successfully complete an extensive and thorough background investigation, which may include Live Scan fingerprinting prior to hire.
    • DMV printout prior to hire.
    • Will be required to perform disaster service activities pursuant to Government Code 3100-3109.
