At The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, we’re not just delivering water — we’re sustaining life for over 19 million people. Behind every drop is a team of Talented Employees: innovators, problem-solvers, and connectors who make it all possible.

The Team Manager IV (Desert Operations Control Center) is responsible for managing and supervising the day-to-day, hands-on, operations of the Colorado River Aqueduct (CRA) conveyance system, power transmission system, and the staff that provide up to 24-hour operation of the associated systems.

    What You’ll Do
    • You will develop strategies that align daily work with DOCC priorities and long-term organizational goals.
    • You’ll lead a focused team responsible for coordinating outages and aqueduct operations across the Colorado River Aqueduct and ensure the work is organized and executed effectively.
    • Serve as the leader in ensuring safe and reliable operations, maintaining high standards and compliance with state and Federal standards.

    • Analyze production data into meaningful insights, utilizing data to guide decisions and strategies.

    Who We’re Looking For
    • A leader who enjoys guiding a small team, setting direction, and optimizing systems and operations.
    • You have experience in operations and maintenance especially in complex, critical power transmission and/or water conveyance systems and know how to think strategically, solve problems and make smart decisions in real time.
    • Safety and compliance matter to you, understanding the importance of leading by example to adhere to regulatory standards and a high level of quality.
    • You’re motivated by work that matters and a role where your work directly impacts essential infrastructure and public service.
    • You can dig into the data and use it to read and tell a story, spot trends, gaps and improve performance rather than check the boxes.
