Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced SharePoint Administrator to lead the modernization, organization, and ongoing management of our SharePoint environment. This role owns SharePoint standards, site health, and governance while supporting users through well-designed, maintainable sites and workflows. The ideal candidate is comfortable taking the lead on SharePoint decisions, improving existing implementations, and collaborating with developers and stakeholders as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leads the cleanup and modernization of SharePoint sites, including removing unused sites and updating legacy or classic implementations.
- Builds new SharePoint sites and updates existing sites to meet current standards and city needs.
- Establishes and maintains SharePoint standards, best practices, and governance across the organization.
- Owns and executes the SharePoint site health initiative, ensuring sites remain organized, performant, and usable.
- Designs, builds, and supports workflows using Power Automate to support SharePoint and broader process automation needs.
- Develops and supports Power BI solutions as requests arise.
- Documents SharePoint processes, standards, and usage guidelines for both technical and non-technical users.
- Acts as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for SharePoint-related questions and initiatives.
- Collaborates with developers and IT team members as needed to support application and integration efforts.
- Works closely with project managers to gather requirements, define scope, and maintain delivery timelines for SharePoint initiatives.
Qualifications
REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree and 4 years of technology experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and technology experience.
Preference given to those with 5+ years of experience administering and supporting SharePoint environments, working knowledge of Power Automate for workflow and process automation, experience supporting or developing Power BI reports and dashboards, familiarity with governance models for large or growing SharePoint environments, experience collaborating with software developers or supporting application integrations, or experience leading SharePoint modernization or cleanup initiatives. If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
