    We are hoping you will join us as a Enterprise Release & Environment Architect (ITS Architect IV) and help shape the future of healthcare where you'll be an integral part of our IT - Application Development team, helping to strive for excellence while we serve our member health with dignity, respecting the value and needs of each of our members through collaboration with our providers, community partners and local stakeholders. You will be responsible for the end-to-end release management lifecycle and the governance of all Information Technology (IT) environments (development, testing, staging, production) within the CalOptima Health organization. The primary responsibility of this role is to plan, schedule, and coordinate software releases across multiple, complex systems, ensuring quality benchmarks and regulatory requirements are met while minimizing risk to the production environment. You are in a critical role that orchestrates software delivery across the organization while ensuring strict compliance with healthcare regulations like Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). You will act as the gatekeeper to the production environment, coordinating with various teams to protect the integrity and stability of the systems that manage patient data and core business operations. Also, you will promote operational excellence, encourage cross-functional collaboration, and ensure the stability, scalability, and efficiency of our release and environment processes.     Your Contributions To the Team:
    • 50% - Release Management
      • Participates in a mission-driven culture of high-quality performance, with a member focus on customer service, consistency, dignity and accountability.
      • Assists the team in carrying out department responsibilities and collaborates with others to support short- and long-term goals/priorities for the department.
      • Develops and maintains the forward-looking release calendar and master release schedules across the entire enterprise.
      • Plans and coordinates release windows and cycles with product, project, architecture, and business teams, managing interdependencies effectively.
      • Serves as the central source of communication regarding project plans, ongoing changes, and release statuses for all stakeholders, from technical teams to executive leadership.
      • Develops, monitors, and enforces release management processes and policies in accordance with best practices and organizational change management procedures.
      • Acts as the gatekeeper to the production environment, ensuring all changes adhere to compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, SOX, etc.).
      • Facilitates release readiness reviews, milestone reviews, and go-live activities.
      • Manages risks, dependencies, and escalations related to releases.
      • Partners with the Development Operations team to optimize CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
      • Provides subject matter expertise and supports large complex projects and/or multiple smaller projects.
    • 45% - Environment Management
      • Oversees the strategy and operations for non-production environments (DEV, QA, UAT, STG).
      • Ensures environment availability, stability, and scalability to support development and testing.
      • Defines environment refresh cycles, data masking practices, and configuration standards.
      • Collaborates with the Infrastructure and Cloud teams to ensure cost-effective environment provisioning.
      • Maintains environment inventory, usage dashboards, and access controls.
    • 5% -
      • Completes other projects and duties as assigned.

    Do You Have What the Role Requires?
    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field PLUS 10 years of experience in release and/or environment management required; an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position such as those listed above may also be qualifying.
    • 5 years of experience working in Agile organizations managing releases and environments required.

      • Our current hiring range is: Pay Grade: 317 - $132,969 - $212,751 ($63.93 - $102.2841).
        • The final salary offered will be based on education, job-related knowledge and experience, skills relevant to the role and internal equity among other factors.
