    Job Summary

    This position is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while providing comprehensive administrative, clerical, and fiscal support to Procurement Services, Risk Management, and Contract Services. The incumbent will manage multiple projects and coordinate administrative functions for the area managers.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Processes all Time Reports for the Procurement, Contracts and Risk Services departments.
    • Office Supply Program Administrator for the campus.
    • Coordinate the administrative operations, process expenditure documents, updates and maintains financial records and reconciles departmental funds for the Procurement Services, Contract Services, and Risk Management departments.
    • Supervises and coordinates work for student employees.


    Knowledge Skills and Abilities

    Proficient in computer operating systems, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, E-mail (CSULB email system). Experience with automated Financial and HR systems preferred (PeopleSoft preferred). Excellent interpersonal communication skills including the ability to coordinate projects and set-up meetings. The ability to work in an environment that entails the safekeeping of confidential information. The ability to prepare and process a wide variety of financial documents, the ability to prepare accurate financial reconciliations, and the ability to maintain complex spreadsheets. Excellent written communication skills including the ability to prepare professional documents and proofread the work of others.

    Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

    Education and Experience

    • Equivalent to five years of administrative support experience required.
    • Bachelor's Degree desired.


    Physical Summary

    Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects. (10 pounds or less).

    Compensation

    Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

    Hiring Rate: The hiring rate for this position is $4,367 (Step #1)

    CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $4,367 (Step #) - $6,362 (Step #20) per month.

    1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.

    Duration of Appointment

    This is a temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
