    Description

    The Town of Prescott Valley invites you to apply for the position of Senior Engineer.

As a Senior Engineer you will supervise and be responsible for aspects of civil engineering for public capital improvement projects and new private developments, including the plan review process. In addition, you will be involved in high level planning and evaluations of the Town's water and sewer infrastructure.

    Examples of Duties

    IN THIS POSITION, YOU WILL:
    • Advise personnel on day-to-day issues and questions, assess and provide for training needs, initiate employee recognition, promotion, disciplinary action, and discharge processes as necessary and appropriate.
    • Manage the engineering division within the Utilities Department; administer the department plan review process and coordinate with other departments.
    • Review water and wastewater master plans for both public and private development.
    • Provide technical assistance using proper civil engineering standards and interpret codes, ordinances and regulations.
    • Manage construction and engineering contracts.
    • Determine methods of resolving unusual and complex problems and improving systems, materials and practices.
    • Manage and direct engineering related studies. Initiate and oversee preliminary designs, studies, analysis, cost estimates.
    • Prepare Council Reports and make presentations to the Town Council on Capital Improvement project or other key Utilities Department projects or programs.


    Typical Qualification

    REQUIREMENTS:
    • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering or closely related engineering field with eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in engineering, inclusive of two (2) years of progressively responsible supervisory experience. Master's degree preferred.
    • Registration as a Professional Engineer.
    • The successful candidate must pass a pre-employment background screening.
    • Working knowledge of public improvements design, contract document preparation, and contract administration.

    COMPENSATION:

    The Town's complete compensation package includes salary, benefits, and a high-performance culture. The Town package includes a health, dental, and vision insurance plan, participation in the state retirement system, optional 457 deferred compensation with a town match up to 6%, vacation, holidays, and additional comprehensive benefits.

    The expected hiring range is $112,777-$120,000.

    The full hourly range is $112,777-$157,913.
