    Job Location: This position will be located at 205 Jefferson St., Jefferson City, MO 65101.

    Why you’ll love this position:

    The Office of Data System Management (ODSM) is responsible for maintaining the P-20 longitudinal data system used for research of student progress and achievement, postsecondary, and workforce preparation, etc. In addition, the office collects and generates data to meet federal reporting requirements and compliance, as well as provide data utilized in research and analysis that impacts policy decision-making. As the technical writer for ODSM, you will collaborate with subject matter experts to create and edit documentation that supports this work.

    • Provide operational and logistical support to the Chief Data Officer (CDO).
    • Schedule, prepare agendas, and take minutes for various meetings.
    • Arrange all in and out of state travel for the team.
    • Prepare, invoice payments, purchase requisitions, and other forms.
    • Prepare, review, and maintain the Administrative Rules, Forms Management, and Records Retention for the office.
    • Compose, type, and proofread memorandums, letters, reports, and other correspondence.
    • Mail correspondence and/or meeting materials to participants as needed.
    • Maintain Call Handler and Hunt Group system.
    • Support with occasional data entry and accessibility tasks in various DESE web application systems.
    • Assist in testing and validating data across various applications.
    • Respond to inquiries from various stakeholders around routine requests.
    • Answer telephone calls and provide service or transfer to appropriate personnel.
    • Assist in creating documentation such as test scripts, memos, verbiage for websites, and flowcharts.
    • Enter help desk tickets for the IT department through various tracking systems.
    • Handle vacancy postings, onboarding, and offboarding processes for new, transitioning, or exiting employees.
    • Open, sort, and distribute mail.
    • Schedule meetings, rooms, and equipment for ODSM meetings.
    • Create and maintain the office filing system.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    • Demonstrate regular, reliable, and engaged attendance.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Graduation from high school or high school equivalency.
