    A Senior Account Technician position is available with the City of Fort Worth Public Library.

    The Library Department is seeking a Senior Account Technician to perform a wide variety of administrative and technical tasks. The Senior Account Technician supports the procurement and accounting functions by processing purchase orders, maintaining vendor accounts, and ensuring accurate and timely reconciliation of invoices and payments. This role works closely with suppliers and internal departments to maintain efficient purchasing operations, accurate financial records, and compliance with organizational policies.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Associates' degree with major course work in accounting, finance or related field and three years of increasingly responsible technical accounting experience involving customer accounts, and collections & billing.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Purchase order creation, processing, and tracking
    • Supplier sourcing
    • Knowledge of principles and procedures of accounting.
    • Knowledge of the City's purchasing policies and procedures.
    • Financial data entry and accuracy auditing
    • Experience working in Oracle (ERP) PeopleSoft, Oracle (ERP) Financials.
    • Experienced in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
    • Accuracy in data entry and transactional processing
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Experienced in SharePoint
    • Contract monitoring and oversight throughout their entire life cycle
    • Contract document handling

    The Senior Account Technician job responsibilities include:

    Perform a wide variety of administrative financial duties in the assigned area including issuing requisitions and purchase orders, as well as receiving, processing, monitoring and recording invoices.
    • Issue payments to vendors via credit card and reconcile credit card transactions.
    • Maintain vendor records, contracts, and purchasing files in accordance with company policies and audit requirements.
    • Monitor order status, track shipments, and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.
    • Research products, suppliers, and pricing to support procurement decisions and cost-saving initiatives.
    • Collaborate with internal departments to clarify purchasing requirements, resolve issues, and improve procurement processes.
    • Coordinating procurement workflows, facilitating purchasing and procurement for supplies and materials, ensuring vendor compliance with established purchasing regulations and policy.
    • Answer questions and provide information via telephone, email and in-person to the public, outside agencies, co-workers, vendors and other departments and divisions.
    • Contributing to organizational effectiveness by identifying opportunities for process improvement, supporting department-wide initiatives, and enhancing interdepartmental and interagency collaboration.
    • Ensure compliance with purchasing policies, financial controls, and regulatory requirements.

    Medical Program

Participants may earn points throughout the year (Jan. 1-Dec. 15) for completing specific program activities and participants can redeem points at the end of the year for a cash reward.
