Job Summary Salary: System Administrator I: $28.28-$36.065 System Administrator II: $28.90-$38.295 System Administrator III: $31.51-$41.745 Performs professional, administrative, and technical work related to designing, building, implementing, and maintaining system platforms. These platforms include physical servers, server virtualization systems, and Storage Area Networks (SAN). Responsible for the maintenance of physical and virtual server systems, which may include assessing performance, completing regular maintenance, diagnosing issues, and repairing problems. The incumbent is also responsible for system backup and restore operations, as well as routine patching. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Strategy & Systems Manager and is subject to periodic review and evaluation.
Additional Qualifications Desired: Technical proficiency in multiple of the following disciplines: Microsoft Server administration, Microsoft Active Directory (AD) administration, VMware vSphere administration, Cloud Computing administration (AWS, and/or Azure), Cisco Unified Computing Systems, Pure Storage, Network
Fundamentals, and Domain Services.
- Experience in Criminal Justice or other regulated industries.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- ServiceNow and ITIL experience.
- Experience managing digital certificates.
- Familiar with managing and implementing Role-Based Access Controls.
- Demonstrated proficiency with managing system updates and patching.
- Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, CompTIA, Server+, Network+, Security+, VMware VCP-DCV, AWS, Storage) are a plus.
Minimum Qualifications: System Administrator I: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field and two (2) years technical experience in IT, network management, and system administration; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Experience with Microsoft Active Directory (AD), storage area networks (SAN), server virtualization platforms, backup and restore solutions, Microsoft Server, Linux Server, and server patching desired.
System Administrator II: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field and four (4) years of technical experience in IT, network management, and system administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with Microsoft Active Directory (AD), storage area networks (SAN), server virtualization platforms, backup and restore solutions, Microsoft Server, Linux Server, and server patching desired.
System Administrator III: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field and six (6) years technical experience in IT, network management, and system administration; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Experience with Microsoft Active Directory (AD), storage area networks (SAN), server virtualization platforms, backup and restore solutions, Microsoft Server, Linux Server, and server patching required.
Additional Qualifications for Promotion: Promotions are not to be considered an automatic function of longevity and are subject to the review and authorization of the Supervisor. The employee’s last performance review must have resulted in an overall rating of Meets standards or better with no factor rating of less than meets.
